Our game drive was nearing an end as the sun was setting over Etosha National Park in Namibia. We had been out all afternoon looking for lions that had been reported in the area and we were running out of time. The camp in which we were staying locks its gates at sundown and we needed to be on the inside when that happened.

So we were on our way back as our guide spotted this wildebeest walking across the savanna. He slowed to a stop to allow us to take photos, and even backed up the vehicle a few times to make sure we all got our shots. Then we were on our way back to camp for dinner. I wondered if wildebeest would be on the menu...

I'm a photographic artist based near Nashville, Tennessee. I love to travel and have been from border to border and coast to coast all across the United States.
