Description

I was in Salt Lake City on business and we had some time to kill before our flight home. I'd researched the Ensign Peak viewpoint in the past, but had never had time to visit it on previous trips. This time was different. I convinced my co-worker it would be worth the trip, so I punched in the location on our GPS unit and we were off. After driving through downtown and then up into the hills, we arrived at the parking area. It was a nice neighborhood with some beautiful homes. I wish my house had this kind of view.

We hurried up the hill while there was still light in the sky. I was huffing and puffing due to the altitude, but eventually I made it. I had brought two cameras with me on this trip, both small but capable. This image was made by the Fuji X100S, a camera I've really come to enjoy using.

You can see the lights of Salt Lake City sprawled out between the mountains with the last colors of the sunset in the distance. The Utah State Capitol building is in the foreground. It really is a beautiful city.
