Artist's Description
Lower Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon in northern Arizona near Page. It's generally much less crowded than Upper Antelope Canyon, which is located across the highway. Upper Antelope is crowded because it's more tourist-friendly -- it's wider, more level, and you can just walk into and through it (along with truckloads of tourists). Lower Antelope requires you to crawl down through this narrow crack in the ground and descend a series of ladders. After that the canyon is narrow and requires you to descend throughout its length. Access is more difficult, but the rewards are greater. It's a temple, a true treasure of the American Southwest.
Late in the year you don't get direct overhead sunlight in the canyon. It's the direct light that's responsible for those shafts of light seen in so many photos from Antelope Canyon. Instead, the canyon is lit by sunlight that enters at an angle and bounces back and forth off the red rock canyon walls, becoming more diffuse with ever...
About Duane Miller
I'm a photographic artist based near Nashville, Tennessee. I love to travel and have been from border to border and coast to coast all across the United States. And everywhere I go, I take my camera and try to capture the many beautiful sights my home country has to offer. Recently, I have begun traveling internationally as well and that has opened up a whole world of new photographic opportunities. I'm glad you stopped by my page to check out my images. I hope that you find something you like, and that one or more of my photographs will find a place in your home or office.

I love this. So different from the typical shot everyone does. This one, although makes a perfect abstract, we still know at a glance where it is. So good! :-)
