Breakthrough - Iceland Snow Photograph Canvas Print

It was cold and the road back to Reykjavik was icy. We were huddled in the back of a car returning from a chartered helicopter trip over southern Iceland. Outside the last few days of winter were cold and windy.

As we drove along there was a momentary break in the clouds and the sun peeked through, lighting up the frozen landscape. We asked, no, demanded that our driver pull over and stop for a moment, and he did.

Hopping out into the frigid air, we began taking photos of the dramatic light on the hills beside the road. I silently hoped that my camera wouldn't fog up immediately after having been in the warm car for so long. I lucked out.

I'm a photographic artist based near Nashville, Tennessee. I love to travel and have been from border to border and coast to coast all across the United States. And everywhere I go, I take my camera and try to capture the many beautiful sights my home country has to offer.
